Home and Away star scores Hollywood role
He only moved to the US three weeks ago, but Home and Away star Luke Mitchell has already scored a major role in the television pilot for sci-fi series Tomorrow People.
Mitchell will play the role of John Young who has special ‘teleportation’ abilities, definitely a big change from his Summer Bay surfie character on Home and Away.
The 27-year-old actor’s move to Tinseltown reflects the actions of fellow Home and Away alumni including Chris Hemsworth, Isabel Lucas and Tammin Sursok who have become household names in Hollywood.

Stars gather for Foxtel launch
Foxtel held its 2013 program launch on Wednesday night, with some of Australia’s biggest names in entertainment attending.
Held at Sydney’s Fox Studios, the event attracted the likes of Australia’s Next Top Model host Jennifer Hawkins and judges Didier Cohen and Charlotte Dawson as well as Foxtel ambassador Chris Hemsworth.
This year sees a combination of local drama, lifestyle shows and international content for Foxtel viewers, with new Aussie drama Wentworth, a new lifestyle cooking show Paddock to Plate fronted by chef Matt Moran and a number of series fast-tracked from the US including Girls, Mad Men andThe Carrie Diaries.
Natalie Gruzlewski welcomes baby girl
It’s a girl for The Farmer Wants A Wife host Natalie Gruzlewski and husband Jack Ray who have have welcomed their first child.
Natalie gave birth at a private hospital on the Gold Coast on Tuesday 19th February and the couple have named the newborn Isabella.

Australia’s Got Talent, The X Factor and the The Voice will all return plus, wait for it, Australian Idoi may even be making a comeback!
Here’s an update on what to expect from your favourite reality talent shows:
Australia’s Got Talent
After been bought from Channel 7 by Channel 9, the judging panel on Australia’s Got Talent is set to see major changes. Dannii Minogue, Kyle Sandilands and Brian McFadden are not expected to return, with international names including Sharon Osbourne in talks to sign up to the reality show. Other big names including Victoria Beckham and Lily Allen have been mentioned, as well as local artist Timomatic who was the 2011 Australia’s Got Talent runner up.
The X Factor
A heavily pregnant Natalie Bassingthwaite may be returning to the X Factor judging panel in 2013. Due to give birth in May, Bassingthwaite told The Daily’s Telegraph’s Sydney Confidential, ‘I definitely know it is going to be an exciting year for X-Factor, that’s for sure…I’d love to do it. I had a really great time last season and I felt like I grew as a judge on the show and I love the challenge
The Voice
International singing sensation Ricky Martin has replaced Keith Urban on the Channel 10 show, joining Delta Goodrem, Joel Madden and Seal on the judging panel.
Australian Idol
It’s the show that created some of Australia’s most most successful singers including Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy, and now Australian Idol is being considered for a television comeback, although no definite decisions have been made.
The Daily Telegraph reports Channel 10’s chief programmer, Bev McGarvey, saying: “Like all networks, we’re always looking at new options and shows… Australian Idol is a consideration, as are many, many other things, but it would be wrong to say it will definitely return to Ten.”
