Panic on the Sunrise set as Grant Denyer passes out on air

Channel 7’s Sunrise weatherman Grant Denyer passed out in a live cross from Melbourne this week.

After having been asked by stunt fighter pilot Matt Hall whether he would like to experience eight G-force, Denyer accepted the challenge however within a few seconds lost his consciousness.
Sunrise presenter Melissa Doyle’s shocked reaction was captured on live television.
Denyer told the Daily Telegraph’s Sydney Confidential, “I had no idea I passed out. But I was out for about six or seven seconds… Poor Mel didn’t know whether I was dead or what was going on”.

Home and Away star scores Hollywood role

He only moved to the US three weeks ago, but Home and Away star Luke Mitchell has already scored a major role in the television pilot for sci-fi series Tomorrow People.

Mitchell will play the role of John Young who has special ‘teleportation’ abilities, definitely a big change from his Summer Bay surfie character on Home and Away.

The 27-year-old actor’s move to Tinseltown reflects the actions of fellow Home and Away alumni including Chris Hemsworth, Isabel Lucas and Tammin Sursok who have become household names in Hollywood.

Parkroyal-ty for Aussie stars

This week I experienced the high-rolling Hollywood lifestyle (well sort of)…

Attending Tuesday night’s launch of the rejuvenated PARKROYAL Hotel in Darling Harbour, Sydney, I got to mingle with the biggest names in the entertainment, tourism and businessindustries. It made me feel like quite the star.

Hosted by Laura Csortan and Roger Corser, the event displayed the hotel’s new cutting edge and contemporary look with over 400 guests treated to drinks and canapes in the hotel’s new restaurant and conference floor.
With special performances by Timomatic and Natalie Bassinghtwaite and Didier Cohen spinning the tunes as official DJ, it was an absolutely star studded night to say the very least.

Australian Idol

It’s the show that created some of Australia’s most most successful singers including Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy, and now Australian Idol is being considered for a television comeback, although no definite decisions have been made.

The Daily Telegraph reports Channel 10’s chief programmer, Bev McGarvey, saying: “Like all networks, we’re always looking at new options and shows… Australian Idol is a consideration, as are many, many other things, but it would be wrong to say it will definitely return to Ten.”
