Asher’s new love

Offspring and Paper Giants star Asher Keddie has been approached to pose for the Archibalds before, but always turned it down. That’s all changed now she’s started dating Melbourne artistVincent Fantauzzo.

Asher allowed her boyfriend to paint her and the resulting artwork has her in awe.

She told news.com.au: “There’s a lot of love and trust in my eyes, and stillness, and it makes me feel happy to look at it.”

In other Archibald news, Lara Bingle has also posed for a portrait for this year’s event.

Bingle posed for artist Gabrielle Pool earlier this week and while being painted tweeted, “This is where magic happens. #archibald #iwaspaintedtoday#gabriellepool #dreamcometrue #cantwait”.

Bingle up in the air

Lara Bingle has signied up as ambassador for Breitling Wingwalkers.

What exactly does this new gig entail for the fashionista?  Well pretty much what it sounds like.

Lara told 2DAY FM’s Kyle and Jackie O show yesterday that she will be walking out on the wing of a plane as it flies with 4 g-force.

And what better way for the radio duo to prepare Lara for such a dare devil adventure than with a wind-resistance test using a leaf blower?

Ruby Rose gets raunchy for JAG

Aussie singer, DJ and model Ruby Rose has been announced as the new face of iconic Australian jeans brand JAG.

In her first advertisement witht the brand, Ruby unleashes a raunchy side appearing in lingerie as she lures Miranda Kerr’s ex boyfriend Jay Lyon into bed while singing a cover of Blondie’s ‘One Way Or Another’.

Aussie actor scores US TV role 

Logie award winning actor Lincoln Lewis has been cast in a pilot for US drama Venice.

The son of Australian football legend Wally Lewis has previously starred in local productions including Home and Away, Underbelly: Razor, Tricky Business and Tomorrow When The War Began.

Being promoted with the catchy phrase ‘California’s most seductive city’, the show Venice revolves around two rival families and Lincoln will play the character Shealy Carver.

Lincoln is not the first Home and Away alumni to give Tinseltown a crack, with Luke Mitchell also scoring a TV pilot role recently and Chris Hemsworth, Isabel Lucas and Tammin Sursok are now household names in Hollywood.

Birdy to perform at Logies

UK singing sensation Birdy has been announced as the major performer at the 2013 Logie Awards.

The 16-year-old will sing her smash hit ‘Skinny Love’ at Australian television’s night of nights on April 7 at the Palladium in Melbourne.

Birdy confesses to being a fan of Australian television herself.  She told TV Week: “When I was younger I always watched Neighbours and now I watch Home And Away as well, so it will be good to see those actors on the night!”

Logies nominations will be announced on Monday.

Home and Away star’s new gig

Rhiannon Fish has swapped her swimmers for sportswear  after being announced as the new ‘Nike She Runs’ ambassador.

The Home and Away star will participate in the 10km race alongside fellow ‘Nike She Runs’ ambassador Kelly Hetherington on Saturday, May 4, in Sydney Centennial Park.

Rhiannon has already started training. She told The Daily Telegraph: “We went on a 3km run last night and I struggled through it but I think it is good to take yourself out of your comfort zone and push yourself”.

On Tuesday night, I dipped my toe into in the glitz and glamour of Australian fashion at Fashion Palette’s 5th birthday held at Sydney’s Darling Pool.

Fashion Palette showcases the talents of budding and established Australian designers, and like all sophisticated soirees in the fashion world, this event attracted a bevy of designers and VIPs in the industry.

Some of Australia’s hottest media personalities hit the red carpet including Casey Burgess, Zoe Marshall, Havana Brown, Lauryn Eagle and Miss Universe Australis 2012 Renae Ayris.

Michelle Bridges split with her husband

After nine years of marriage Biggest Loser trainer Michelle Bridges and her husband Bill Moorehave decided to separate.

The pair, who married in 2003 after meeting at Moore’s gym, are citing a lack of time to focus on their personal lives as a contributing factor.

Together they built the fitness empire that has come to emcompass cookbooks, the 12 Week Body Challenge and Bridges television career.
