Shane Watson and Lee Furlong welcome baby boy
Congratulations to Australian cricketer Shane Watson and wife Lee Furlong who welcomed a baby boy last night at St George hospital in Sydney.
The pair have named the newborn Will, and Watson’s manager has told The Daily Telegraph,“Shane and Lee are naturally delighted”.
Earlier this week, Watson was one of four Australian cricketers sacked from the third test series in India and made the decision to fly back to Australia in time for the baby’s birth.
Miranda Kerr hit by drunk driver
Aussie model Miranda Kerr was involved in a car accident in Los Angeles earlier this week.
Miranda was in a car with her assistant when another vehicle driven by an alleged drink driver rammed into them.
The model was spotted hours later with a neck brace, and has taken to Twitter to thanks fans for their wishes.
Yesterday she tweeted, “Thanks for all the messages of support. I am on the mend!”
My Kitchen Rules heats up
The contestants of My Kitchen Rules continued dishing up the drama this week, with the show becoming the highest rating in 2013 so far.
After Tasmanian father and son duo Mick and Matt were eliminated on Monday night, Matt slammed gate crashers Sophia Pou and Ashlee Pham as bullies.
Since entering the competition, both Sophia and Ashlee have directed many insults towards Italian housewives Melina and Angela.
Last week Ashlee said “We can’t bear another week of them. Seriously, go home already” and “She’s (Melina) beyond pathetic”.
Matt told news.com.au that it is “just disgusting some of the stuff they’re saying… it’s bullying Angela and Melina basically, for no reason”.
Last night’s cook off episode resulted in Tasmanian best friends Ali Hawkins and Samuel Berechree being eliminated from the competition.
Rachael Finch is pregnant
Former Miss Universe Australia Rachael Finch is expecting her first child with husband Michael Miziner.
The pair who met on the set of Dancing With The Stars in 2010, revealed the exciting news to New Idea earlier this week, just two months after tying the knot.
The 24-year-old Rachael confessed: “We didn’t know at the wedding, but we were about a week pregnant.”
Congrats to the couple who are expecting the bub’s arrival in September.
House Husbands sneak peek
Fans of Aussie drama House Husbands, are in for a treat with the release of a season 2 preview this week.
Brace yourselves for another season of heartwarmingly hilarious antics from the four stay-at-home dads, with one forgetting his child’s birthday and dealing with the monster in-laws.
All cast members return for the second season, including resident eye candy Firass Dirani.

Tara Moss the top pick for Archibald’s packers
A portrait of Australian writer and former model Tara Moss has won the 2013 Archibald Packer’s Prize this week.
The portrait was painted by NSW artist Michael Lynn, who has previously been a runner-up and an Archibald Prize finalist 12 times.
Lynn said “This is my lucky 13 which Tara would love because she’s a little bit spooky”.
The official 2013 Archibald Prize winner will be announced in Sydney next week.
Myer and David Jones kick off the fashion race
Department stores Myer and David Jones went head to head in the fashion stakes on Tuesday, showcasing their new Autumn racing collections to the media.
Myer ambassadors Jennifer Hawkins and Laura Dundovic paraded some of the new racing season trends at Walsh Bay’s Bar At The End Of The Wharf, while David Jones saw model Samantha Harris showcase their collection at the Sydney Carnival launch in Centennial Park.
Autumn trackside style is set to see plenty of leather and lace, with Jennifer Hawkins telling news.com.au: “Every time I see women in lace, I think it’s feminine and sexy. It shows just enough skin”.
2013 Logies nominations announced
The nominations for the 2013 TV Week Logie Awards were announced on Monday and things could get ugly, as Hamish Blake and his partner in crime Andy Lee are both up for the Gold Logie.
Also competing for the big award are Adam Hills, Carrie Bickmore, Asher Keddie and Home and Away’s Steve Peacocke.
The 2013 Logie Awards will be held on Sunday 7th April at the Palladium Room at Melbourne’s Crown Entertainment Complex with an international line up of performers including Bruno Mars, Michael Buble, Birdy and Olly Murs.
