Offspring sneak peek

Cue nationwide squeals of excitement – a sneak peek of the latest season of Offspring was released last night.

Season 4 will hit our screens next month. We know Asher Keddie’s character Nina Proudman is expecting,but audiences are left wondering what else to expect from this hilarious series.

If the preview (below) is anything to go by, there will be plenty of drama and some new eye candy (hello, new doctor)!

Yesterday Channel 10 also announced the release of an Offspring app called Offspring: Moving Inenouraging audience engagement with the show’s characters beyond the TV screen.

Chief Digital Officer, Rebekah Horne, said: “Offspring fans have received exclusive content ahead of on-air broadcast throughout the entire series. This year, we are delighted to reward fans with something innovative ahead of the launch of Series Four.”

 Aussie actresses give Cinderella’s glass slipper a try

A Hollywood adaptation of Cinderella is in the works, and two home-grown beauties are in the running for the lead role.

Former Neighbours stars Margot Robbie and Bella Heathcote have been named as contenders for the role of Cinderella, along with British actress Lily James.

The production will be directed by Kenneth Branagh.

However, the more pressing question on our lips is who will play Prince Charming?

The Logies countdown is on

Get excited – Australian television’s “night of nights” is only two sleeps away.

This year’s TV Week Logie Awards will be will be held in Melbourne this Sunday, with an international line up of performers including Bruno Mars, Michael Buble, Birdy and Olly Murs.

Big names in the running for the ultimate Gold Logie include comedy partners in crime Hamish Blake and Andy Lee, as well as Adam Hills, Carrie Bickmore, Asher Keddie and Home and Away’s Steve Peacocke.

According to sportsbet.com.au , the favourite to take home gold on Sunday is Asher Keddie with odds of $1.50, followed by Andy Lee at $4, Bickmore at $10, Steve Peacocke at $13 and Adam Hills at $26.

Ellen’s bondi beach prank

Another clip of Ellen DeGeneres’ Aussie adventures has been released.

When the US talk show host was down under almost two weeks ago, she set a challenge for her writers Lauren and Kevin.

They were both wired with ear plugs, microphones and savvy camera sunglasses as Ellen fed them with hilarious phrases to say to local surfies at Bondi Beach.

Ruby Rose reveals her battle with depression

Australian singer, model and DJ Ruby Rose has cancelled her forthcoming tour dates after revealing her continued battle with depression.

Rose took to Twitter on Sunday, saying: “It is with great sadness that despite everything I have tried in the short time I was given I am still losing my battle with depression.”

She also updated her fans on Tuesday with a Facebook post outlining her previous experiences with the condition.

“I have had depression for more years than I can remember. As a child I was subjected to sexual abuse, as well as many other traumas I need not bore you with and I was first medicated at around 14 for PTSD after finding a dead body,” she wrote.

The 27-year-old has urged fans to tackle their issues and seek support if they are enduring similar situations.  “You are not alone, pick up the phone, grab an animal, grab someone else’s animal just make sure you address it and give yourself the time and love you need.”

The Voice is back

Get ready to hear the nation’s rising voices belt out the high notes – The Voice is back on our screens this weekend.

Season 2 will launch on Sunday night at 6:30pm, followed by the TV Week Logie Awards.

This year’s mentoring panel has been shaken up, with a little Latino influence thrown into the mix.  Ricky Martin, 41, will join original mentors Joel Madden, Delta Goodrem and Seal on the panel, after Keith Urban made the decision to judge American Idol in 2013.

Another week of surf and sand in Summer Bay

A couple of nail biting dramas have been unfolding in Aussie soap land this week.

Home and Away has seen the arrival of yet another beach babe – Mr Johnny Ruffo!

The 25-year-old plays the charming yet slightly mischievous character Chris Harrington, brother of Spencer Harrington played by Andrew Morley.

Having shot to fame singing on the X Factor and previously winning Dancing With the Stars, acting naturally seemed like the next step in Johnny’s career.

The triple threat seems to be super stoked about his Home and Away debut, particularly upon meeting some of Summer Bay’s iconic figures.  He told Western Australia Today, “Meeting Ray Meagher and Georgie Parker was huge; they’re great to work alongside.”

In other Home and Away news, Summer Bay bid farewell to two characters this week.

Luke Mitchell, who played Romeo Smith, and Axle Whitehead, who played Liam Murphy, appeared on screen for the last time on Wednesday night, after Romeo’s battle with skin cancer spiralled further downwards.

House Husbands returns

Channel 9 has announced the second season of House Husbands will return on Monday 8th April.

Viewers can brace themselves for another season of heartwarmingly hilarious antics from the four stay-at-home dads, with one forgetting his child’s birthday and dealing with the ‘monster in-laws’.

Earlier last week, the show’s resident heartthrob Firass Dirani tweeted this behind-the-scenes shot of his latest photoshoot with costar Leah De Niese.

Stars frock up for Prix de Marie Claire Awards

Some of the biggest names in Australian beauty and fashion attended the annual Prix de Marie Claire Awards in Sydney last week.

The black tie-style soiree was held at The Star, paying tribute to the industry with the likes of Lara Bingle, Megan Gale, Charlotte Dawson and Jodi Anasta strutting the red carpet.

The fab fashion masterminds also present included designers Camilla Franks, Alex Perry and Sass & Bide’s Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke.
