Introducing Olivia Munn.
The actress has proven that geek is the new chic, playing financial news reporter Sloan Sabbith on HBO’s drama The Newsroom.
Not afraid to speak her mind, Sloan’s fast paced dialogue (think the Gilmore Girls to the power of 10) featuring sarcastic, feminist and other damn right super intelligent references leaves her male colleagues gob smacked – you go girl!
Here’s a taster of the witty lines that the newsreader delivers:
“No, I make nerds look good.”
“Don’t call me girl, sir.”
“The day will come when we have a HR rep who cares what goes on on this floor”.
“I get that I don’t necessarily look like it, but I’m an economist.”
“A lot of men are intimidated by my intelligence.”
“I have a small slightly disturbing following among white collar inmates.”
“You want me to do pole dances while explaining subprime mortgages?”
“For the rest of us to profit, we need a greater fool – someone who will buy long and sell short. Most people spend their lives trying not be the greater fool…The greater fool is someone with the perfect blend of self-delusion and ego to think that he can succeed where others have failed. This whole country was made by greater fools.
Are you watching The Newsroom? If not, get onto it stat!
